2014 Volunteers of the Month

Every month we are proud to recognize one of our outstanding volunteers as “Volunteer of the Month.” See a list of all 2014 honorees below and click on the links in their description to read all about what drives them to get involved. Perhaps you’ll see your own name on this list someday?

Feb VOM _Candice BelvilleFebruary: Candice Belville

Working on all the brochures and printed pieces we need for the Race, not to mention the graphics that we use year-round on the web site and all our social media channels is a tall order! We’re thankful to have a talented graphic designer in Candice who’s eager to help.

Kris Gaston and sons 2014

June: Kris Gaston
When Kris Gaston was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer, her doctors told her she would not survive the year. That was in 2000. Thriving 14 years later with her three boys, Kris is determined to give back to the community and pay it forward for all the support she’s received throughout the years.

Bernice

July: Bernice Smith
When Bernice is not taking care of her four children, attending classes, volunteering for other organizations or working, she volunteers for Komen! It’s hard to believe how she fits it all in, but Bernice is a contstant sight at our monthly Race committee meetings and on Race day.

Who will be the next Volunteer of the Month?
