Race Information FAQs
When is the Race?
The 25th Anniversary Race for the Cure is on Saturday, June 14, 2014. Survivors need to be at the stage area by 7:00 AM for the Survivor Ceremony and the race begins at 8:00 AM. This event will occur rain or shine. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be no refunds; rather, your entry fee will be used as a donation to the Komen Quad Cities Race for the Cure.
Can I register as a participant the day of the Race?
No. There will be NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION so sign up ahead of time!
What is the final date for individual registration?
Participants can register online through [date and time]. Or on-site on [date and time].
What time do the Shuttles run on Race day?
The shuttle bus will continuously run from the parking lot at the Quad City Botanical Center in Rock Island beginning at 6:30 AM. The last bus departs from Metrolink Centre Station at approximately 10:30 AM. An announcement will be made from the stage. Participants are encouraged to use the free shuttle and to arrive early.
Where do I send donations and registration fees?
Please try to register and donate online first! Please do not send cash; instead send checks or money orders. Our mailing address is as follows: Komen Quad Cities, 1401 W Central Park Ave, Pavilion 1, Suite 430, Davenport, IA 52804.
Are pets, inline skates, bikes, motorized scooters, or skateboards allowed at the Race?
For the safety of all participants, pets, inline skates, bikes, scooters, skateboards and pets are not allowed at the Race.
Are strollers and wheelchairs allowed on the Race course?
Yes, however for safety reasons we require that participants using them line up behind those who are running.
How do I run competitively in the Race?
Timing chips are available for all regular Race participants and will be included in your race packet.
How does a breast cancer survivor determine which group to walk with in the survivor ceremony?
An individual is considered a breast cancer survivor from the time of the breast cancer diagnosis. For example, someone diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2004 would be a 10-year breast cancer survivor at the time of the 2014 Quad Cities Race in June.
Can we sell merchandise for fundraising on Race day?
Teams or individuals are not allowed to sell merchandise on Race day.
Who do we make the check payable to?
Please make all checks payable to: Komen Quad Cities. On the check memo line, please include your name or your team name.
What is the registration rate for children under Kids for the Cure?
Registration for children age 14 and under is $17.
Should I bring money on Race Day?
Yes! We will be selling Komen merchandise. There will also be a Pink Ribbon Raffle that takes place in the iWireless entrance.
